This is the view from my drop off spot today.

This gives you an idea of the slope I was walking on today. It was 12:30pm before I found a flat enough spot to take my backpack off for a few minutes.

Kid free and heading to Alaska to work as a geologist. Some friends are envious … hopefully my summer will be an unforgettable experience and encourage them to also follow a dream. I thought uncertainty would happen on the first field day, but it actually started in January when I found out the guys on the crew carry guns for bear protection. Well, never having shot a handgun before, let alone 44mag revolver, this whole mom-in-Alaska deal is going to be a challenge!
